About Us
At Mindspring Education Center, we are dedicated to providing the very best in educational opportunities to students of all ages and levels. Our educational therapists specialize in all areas of reading, writing, spelling, comprehension, math, and specific learning disorders, such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia.
Sally was able to pinpoint and address our daughter's learning blind spots as well as build on her strengths. We are so grateful to have found Mindspring Education Center! (Parent)

A Professional Educational Therapist and the owner and founder of Mindspring Education Center, Sally has successfully educated students for more than 20 years. Having worked as the Director of Instruction for Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes for a number of years, she has extensive experience in their programs and has built upon this knowledge to create a system for excellent instruction at Mindspring. She formerly served on the Board of Directors for the Association of Educational Therapists (AET), a national organization dedicated to setting standards for the field of educational therapy. She also served as a regular committee member of the One Book, One City group for the Sierra Madre Public Library for several years. When not with her students, Sally enjoys riding horses, playing tennis, reading, and spending time with her family.

Since joining Mindspring in 2015, Susan has been an invaluable educator, providing exemplary instruction and educational therapy to her clients. In her work with students, ranging in age from pre-Kindergarten to high school, Susan brings professional expertise combined with warmth and humor to facilitate an optimal learning experience. She specializes in addressing student needs in the areas of reading, spelling, writing, and math disorders; executive function; and other developmental disorders.
Susan brings a wealth of experience to her work with students. After completing her Elementary Education training at California State University, Los Angeles, Susan taught in a private school, enjoying a 3rd/4th grade combination class. A few years later, she received her Special Education credential with a learning disabilities emphasis. She worked as a Resource Specialist teacher for the Alhambra Unified School District, teaching students in grades K-8 and in the Head Start preschool. While homeschooling her own children, Susan maintained a small private practice, tutoring students from various local schools. She then completed the Educational Therapy program at California State University Northridge, including an internship at Kaiser Permanente Watts Counseling and Learning Center, before joining Mindspring.

Amber brings infectious enthusiasm to her work with students! Peals of laughter are common as she helps students tackle the very skills that may be the most challenging for them. At Mindspring, she specializes in working with children and adolescents with learning disabilities and/or differences in the areas of reading, spelling, and writing. Amber is also fluent in Italian.
Amber has always been passionate about improving the educational experiences of children. After graduating from UC Irvine with a degree in Education Sciences and a specialization in Children’s Learning and Development, she began working as a preschool teacher in Sacramento. Upon learning about the field of Educational Therapy, Amber enrolled at UC Riverside in order to obtain her certification in Educational Therapy. Outside of work, she enjoys rock climbing, cooking, hiking, and camping. |

Olivia joined Mindspring in 2015 after her previous position as project manager for quality improvement initiatives in the health care industry. In addition, she has worked in various administrative positions in the financial and tech industries. At Mindspring, Olivia handles the scheduling, billing, and other administrative tasks.
